Music Ministry

At Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, music is an important part of our worship and there's something for everyone.

Our Sunday services feature our beautiful grand piano and 32-member adult choir as well as special music.

The team is NOT a performance-oriented group, but rather a group of ministers. Members should be able to pick music up quickly, hearing and staying on the proper voice part and music part. Members must be willing to take some coaching regarding their talent.

The choir sings every Sunday morning, alternating between the 8:30 and 10:45 masses. Rehearsals are each Thursday from 6:30-8:00 PM in January and during the time period between Easter and October. From February till Easter, and from October till Christmas, rehearsals are being held on Thursday nights from 6:00-7:00. New members are always welcome! Although choristers do not need to be able to read music, prospective members should be able to sing on pitch, i.e., carry a tune. Music styles range from classical to hymn-based anthems, to contemporary and praise music. This is a fun group that also enjoys social get-togethers throughout the year. Madrigal Choir sings on a regular basis, providing communion meditation during select masses. Rehearsals are on the first three Sundays of the month (or four if there are five Sundays in a month) from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, January till October. The musical style is that of madrigals and motets of the Renaissance period (1400-1600) by the leading composers of that time. Junior Choir for children from grades 1 through 6 sings at the Children's Mass on Christmas Eve. Rehearsals are Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m., beginning in October.
